Our Values & Mission

We believe that instilling these values inside and outside of school will prepare children for any path they choose after leaving us. We teach these values through play, worship, activities, Bible stories, quotes, and inspirational heroes.

After School Club
The fun continues after school! Children enjoy various age-appropriate activities, fostering lasting friendships and great memories from Reception to Year 6. We encourage participation in diverse physical activities while teaching about safety and risk management.
Health Eating
A balanced diet is crucial for healthy development. We provide nutritious meals and snacks, including fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, while avoiding fizzy drinks and sweets except on special occasions. Water is always accessible.
Daily meals will consist of foods from the ‘eat well plate’ and include all food groups considering any allergies.

Our Team of Professionals
Our trained, enthusiastic staff embody our values. Each child in reception is assigned a lead carer for detailed handovers. All staff undergo DBS checks and have safeguarding certificates, with a Paediatric First Aid member on site.

Holiday and Half-Term Programming
During holidays, we offer exciting daily activities from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, focusing on various themes, indoor and outdoor play. Activities include:
- Relaxation with friends
- Mindfulness activities
- Active games
- Group games and free play
We arrange our environment so that our different age groups of children have an area that is tailored to their interests and needs, as well as providing communal areas where siblings and friends can come together.
We Provide a healthy balanced snack every day which is made up of fruit, vegetables and a form of carbohydrate such as flatbreads, pasta, wraps or beans on toast. Our snack time is a key part of our daily routine and provides a social occasion for the children and staff to reflect on their day and have many interesting conversations.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Daycare Services

The club is held in a secure building with a large hall for activities and a quiet area for homework.
Children are supervised by at least two adults during walks, ensuring safety. High-visibility jackets are worn. The minimum ratios are: 1 adult to 10 children (juniors); 1 adult to 8 children (infants).
All staff are permanent members of staff; we do not employ casual staff as we feel this does give children a safe continuity of care. The group’s leader holds a childcare qualification including Early Years Professional Status. All staff are DBS checked. We also have a Paediatric First Aid trained member of staff on site all the time. We will update you as soon as a new member of staff starts with us, and we will ensure that they are introduced to you as soon as possible.
Little Lion’s Joy is open Monday to Friday after school during term time until 6.00pm
Charges are £17.50 per day from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Children are welcome to join us on an ad-hoc basis subject to availability, payment should be made on the day of the session attended. We offer discounted rates for early after school collection and our sibling discount is currently 5% of the total monthly fees. Fees are payable monthly in advance and should be paid using our online payment method on the 1st of each month.

Activities promote growth, learning, and fun, encouraging cooperation and emotional development. We adapt activities based on children's interests. We encourage children to make friends, cooperate and work in team. We let children explore their interest and build confidence by learning new skills in a social setting.
